Terms of Service

These are the plain terms for working with Just A Website ("we," "us," "our"). By signing up, you ("the Client") agree to them. Questions before you start? Email hello@justawebsite.ca.

1. What you get

One simple plan: a clean, mobile-first one-page website with a contact form, professionally written copy, a domain, managed Canadian hosting, and ongoing upkeep. Everything included in the plan is described on our homepage.

2. Price & billing

• The monthly fee is $49 CAD, billed on the same calendar date each month, starting the day your website goes live.
• There is no setup fee and no minimum term.
• Prices are in Canadian dollars. GST/HST is added where applicable.
• Accounts more than 15 days past due may have hosting temporarily paused until payment is brought current.

3. Cancelling

• You can cancel any time before your next billing date — just email us. There is no cancellation fee and no remaining-term penalty.
• Fees already paid for the current month are non-refundable, but you won't be billed again after you cancel.
• On cancellation we'll send you a full export of your website files within 5 business days, and help transfer your domain to you or a registrar of your choice.

4. What we need from you

So we can build quickly, you agree to provide, where relevant: any specific text, a logo file if you have one (SVG or PNG preferred), photos you'd like used, timely feedback, and one main point of contact for approvals. If you don't have copy or images, we'll write and source sensible defaults for you to approve.

5. Changes & revisions

We'll work with you to get the page right before launch. After launch, small changes (text, hours, a photo, contact details) are included as part of your monthly fee. Larger work — extra pages, a redesign, custom features — is quoted and agreed in advance before any charge.

6. Who owns what

Once your payments are current, you own the custom content and design created specifically for your site. We may show your finished website in our portfolio unless you ask us in writing not to. Third-party elements (stock photos, fonts) remain under their own licences, and you confirm that any content you give us doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.

7. Hosting & uptime

Hosting is provided through Cloudways on Canadian servers in Toronto, Ontario. We aim for very high uptime but can't guarantee against every outage outside our control. Planned maintenance is scheduled outside business hours where possible.

8. Limitation of liability

Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the fees you paid in the 3 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or lost-profit damages, or for losses caused by third-party services (hosting outages, the domain registrar, the form-delivery service, payment processors, and the like).

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada, and any disputes will be resolved in Ontario.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. We'll notify active clients of any material change by email with 30 days' notice; continuing to use our services after that constitutes acceptance.
